“Play” was written for and first performed by musicians from Århus Sinfonietta at my debut concert “Sange når aftenklokken ringer” (“Songs when the evening bell chimes”) in 2017.

In the piece, specific songs from the pianist Erik Kaltoft’s childhood are cut into pieces and put together again. On top of this two performers are continually stuffing toys into the piano, gradually muffling the sound of the cut-up melodies.
